Let Freedom Ring!

the Blog

We can almost see the red, white & blue celebrations now. Fourth of July is right around the corner, and we’ve got you covered with the quickest & most affordable ways to throw a celebration for your America lovin’ friends. Fireworks will definitely be flying when you host this party using these festive ideas…

First of all, you’ve got to dress the part. Throw on those cowboy boots and denim dresses this year, and don’t forget to rock that bright red lipstick. We found our dresses on sale at Urban Outfitters and Nordstroms for only $40. Talk about a steal.

This is a perfect backdrop for your party to add a little something extra when guests arrive. Who knew that colored watering tins would make great centerpieces and decor.

We all know that a party isn’t official unless you have GAMES! Our personal favorites are Apples to Apples, Catch Phrase, and HedBanz. Don’t feel like going out and buying these at the store? Don’t worry you can purchase Heads Up on your iPhone for only $0.99 and trust us, you’ll be hooked for hours! We also love Studio DIY’s idea of easily printing out these Bingo cards filled with lots of iconic American fun.

Don’t forget to have lots of snacks laying around for your guests. Cracker jacks, red vines & bubble gum are throw on tables for guests to munch – and they look adorable. Talk about the perfect American snack.

To beat the summer heat, we thought these crushed spiked watermelon popsicles were perfect from Sugar and Cloth. Head on over to her blog to get the full instructions on how to make these delicious treats!

Ingredients (12 pops):

  • 2.5 lbs of fresh, seedless watermelon (half of a small melon)
  • 4 tablespoons of watermelon Monin syrup
  • 8 oz. of light rum
  • splash of Sprite
  • small, rectangular cuts of rind the same size as your popsicle molds

And of course our non-alcoholic beverage of choice: Coca-Cola. Not only is it refreshing, but the old school glass bottles add a perfect decorative touch.

So cheers, Darling to a Fourth of July for the books! What are your big plans for this holiday?
Be on the lookout for our next blog post. We’ve come up with a refreshing cocktail recipe to add some flavor to your next weekend’s festivities!
